Field Work Order

A field work order is a document issued by a contractor to subcontractors or other workers that outlines the specifics of a job or task on a residential construction project. It can include details such as the materials, labor, and equipment needed for the job, as well as, estimated completion time, safety information and requirements, job instructions or notes, deadlines, and contact information for all parties.

Field work orders also provide a legal framework to ensure both parties are held accountable if something goes wrong during construction. This helps protect both the contractor and subcontractor from potential liabilities related to negligence or faulty products. Additionally, it serves as documentation of who was responsible for what work on the project.
